Biography
Dr Luke Nicholls is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Redland. Raised in Redland City, he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at the University of Queensland in 2012, followed by specialist training in radiation oncology across Queensland. Dr Nicholls undertook a clinical fellowship at the internationally renowned Royal Marsden Hospital in London where he gained experience in prostate cancer management and clinical trials. He completed a second fellowship at Icon Cancer Centre Greenslopes, specialising in stereotactic radiation therapy. In 2020, he became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).
With a strong commitment to research, education, and quality improvement, Dr Nicholls has published peer-reviewed work in areas including lung cancer, prostate cancer, medical education and stereotactic radiation therapy. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and an examiner for RANZCR. He also contributes as a reviewer for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO) and Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences (JMRS).
