Dr Andrew Fong brings an individual, personal focus to his practice. He tailors each consultation to each patient he sees, with a gentle, empathetic approach, and concise, plain language communication. His patients benefit from his understanding of cutting edge cancer treatment modalities and the circumstances in which they can be utilised.

Biography

Dr Andrew Fong graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2000, and has undertaken specialty training at Prince of Wales Hospital and the Royal North Shore Hospital. He was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2009. Dr Fong also completed a Masters of Electronic Healthcare (MeH) at the University of Queensland, and was awarded the Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement in both 2008 and 2010.

Dr Fong was the inaugural Withers and Peters Fellow for RANZCR in 2009 and focused on research at the Collaboration for Cancer Outcomes, Research and Evaluation (CCORE) and also at Liverpool Hospital. He has been actively involved in teaching at the Northern Clinical School, University of Sydney as well as having an appointment as a conjoint associate lecturer at the University of New South Wales. Dr Fong was previously Chair of the RANZCR Website Management Committee, with a focus on electronic learning. He is also an active member of Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the Australian and New Zealand Melanoma Trials Group (ANZMTG), and the Australian Sarcoma Study Group (ASSG). He is currently clinical director of radiation oncology at the Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Dr Fong has particular interests in breast, lung, head and neck cancers, as well as intensity modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic radiation therapy and stereotactic ablative body radiation therapy.
